Snoop Dogg is a joy to cover, even when he is having streaming failures or telling Bill Gates off, and he has revealed to Rolling Stone that Dr Dre was working on new music for Grand Theft Auto. Snoop Dogg will be collaborating on these tracks. However, it is unclear if the GTA project is for GTA 6 or a GTA Online expansion.

Snoop stated, “I do know that he’s making great music,” when asked about his close friend. “Some of his music is linked to the GTA video game. His music will be released through the GTA videogame, I believe.

This quote was made in response to questions about Detox, Dr Dre’s long-in-gestation follow up to his 2015 album Compton. It’s possible that Detox might launch via GTA Online, as other artists have done in Fortnite. This is pure speculation. Rolling Stone was not contacted by Dr Dre or Rockstar.

Dr Dre may be just recording contributions for the “expanded” and enhanced version of GTA Online. This will hit new-gen consoles in 2022. Rockstar may have commissioned new songs because licensing all the songs in the original 3D GTA Trilogy was not possible. Snoop might have just announced that new Dr Dre tracks would be included in GTA 6. These options are more exciting than others.
