Justice League Shows Killed Suicide Squad By First-Ever Screenshot
Rocksteady Studios shared the first screenshot of the protagonists of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League ahead of the DC fandom appearance. The official art for the Suicide Squad members was already revealed via Twitter. However, the latest image gives fans their first glimpse at the in-game characters. Rocksteady has provided a steady stream with small details that will keep fans excited about the title.
The Suicide Squad game is set in the Arkhamverse instead of the DCEU. This continuity is the same as Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series. The whole squad is made up of Harley Quinn and King Shark and Captain Boomerang and Deadshot. All of them will be available in the final release. The game’s title suggests that the plot involves eliminating members of the Justice League, including Superman, who can be seen in the trailer killing civilians under Brainiac’s control. The details of the Suicide Squad are not available at the moment. However, eager fans can now see the characters in the game.
This screenshot was taken from a tweet from Sefton Hills, Rocksteady Studios’ Creative Director. The screenshot shows the Suicide Squad in its entirety and teases further reveals. Hill captioned, “Can’t WAIT to see more of this story and the strange and wonderful reprobates that you’ll be working with,” suggesting that other DC characters may make an appearance in the game. The DC fandom event could confirm more characters.
Although little information has been released about the game’s gameplay, it is known that it will be set in Metropolis, the hometown of Superman. It will allow players to explore the map in an open world freely. The game will be more of a shooter than Rocksteady’s Batman games. This is not surprising given the differences in the fighting styles of its protagonists.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a title that will be released next year. Not much information has been revealed about it. Based on DC FanDome’s teaser footage, this is likely to change. However, the new screenshot gives fans a glimpse of what the game will look and feel like. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League looks to be one the most intriguing titles in 2022, thanks to Rocksteady’s track record and the novel, engaging plot and characters.
Harley Quinn is a well-known DC Comics character, but Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League looks very different from the Suicide Squad film. Harley Quinn was Batman’s villain, companion, ex-partner, and primary character in Suicide Squad. She was also a prominent character in the Arkham series, which Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League will continue. Harley Quinn is among four playable characters. Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang are also confirmed. This Harley Quinn is different from the other versions of the character.
Modern Harley Quinn characters have strayed away from their relationship with the Joker in modern times. James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad explored Harley’s rise from Joker abuse. HBO’s Harley Quinn series, however, has made the villain the commander of her destiny. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will likely continue to grow this trend, despite Arkhamverse’s Joker’s death. Despite her independence and growth, Harley Quinn may be quite different from the comic and film versions that are usually part of the Suicide Squad.
Acrobatics is Harley Quinn’s primary method of getting around Gotham. Harley is often hopping across rooftops looking for her next adventure, while Batman prefers his grappling hook. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s Harley Quinn seems to be challenging the status quo. Harley is seen alongside her signature bat and grenades. She appears to be continuing Arkhamverse tradition by using grappling devices. This character change could signal the return to the most popular method of travel in the series (except Batman’s cape-gliding).
The Suicide Squad was led historically by characters like Colonel Rick Flag, Deadshot and Bloodsport. The trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill Justice League seems to depart from the usual formula and could place Harley Quinn in a leadership position. Amanda Waller is her only direct interaction, while Quinn also gives orders to her teammates. This would give Harley the chance to grow as a character, which is a welcome departure from her traditional role of sidekick.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will be set in Rocksteady’s Arkhamverse. In the series, Harley Quinn is capable of a lot of murders and careless cruelty. In the trailer, Harley’s moral compass seems to be becoming more compassionate. Kill the Justice League’s Superman kills the helicopter pilot. Harley’s expression changes from one of horror and disgust to another, even though she has seen far worse under Joker. This subtle gesture can be meaningful, though it may not be obvious.
Although Harley Quinn has many differences in Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, she retains many traits as previous versions of her character. In the Kill the Justice League trailer, her dialogue shows the same accent, sass and detached personality that made Harley Quinn so famous over the years. Although there is much to learn about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s history, fans will most likely be able to see what it has to offer by 2022.
