In March, Darby McDevitt, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s narrative director, announced that he would be leaving Ubisoft to start “a new adventure.” Nine months later, he is back.

“It’s true!” McDevitt tweeted. McDevitt tweeted: “As I thought about my career in the last year, I was focused on my desire for new ideas and unexplored frontiers. This is what I found out when I returned to Ubisoft to continue my work on AC. It’s exciting to continue my journey. Keep watching!

He didn’t share any information about where Assassin’s Creed might go next but said, “I have never felt more excited about what we’re doing and the stories that I get to tell with these guys.”

McDevitt worked for Ubisoft for over a decade on the Assassin’s Creed franchise. These writing credits date back to 2009’s spinoffs Assassin’s Creed Discovery and Bloodlines and the mainline games Assassin’s Creed Unity, Origins, and Vahalla. McDevitt left Ubisoft to become the narrative director of Montreal-based Illogika. The studio recently announced it was working on a single-player horror adventure set within the “Quiet Place.” universe.

McDevitt did not confirm that he was involved in the game. His LinkedIn page states only that McDevitt was on “unannounced ”–projects,” but he gave a “special shout out” to the team on Twitter and called it “a bold, innovative game with a great approach.”–cp-generator-2022–cp-generator-2022/c/olE9auEDebs–cp-generator-2022/c/V28mh1Ssa-Y–cp-generator-2022/c/RcU1PY3rEY8–cp-generator-2022/c/Zo578emeXuk–cp-generator-2022/c/UQGEs1M_faM–cp-generator-2022/c/c9QPk-jk55E–cp-generator-2022/c/V0qcSvC2Ibc–cp-generator-2022/c/5SCdjfPXZ10–cp-generator-2022/c/PLsucAZM0Gc–cp-generator-2022/c/1MAiZWv6Wnw–cp-generator-2022–cp-generator-2022/c/HmvYDCCNVz8–cp-generator-2022/c/MEenuQpFjyA–cp-generator-2022/c/wxtUbLTzTKo–cp-generator-2022/c/OKdNZ2W08Jk–cp-generator-2022/c/cZL43pkK_E8–cp-generator-2022/c/1vMNVU8zwd8–cp-generator-2022/c/WlwLPiQW7DA–cp-generator-2022/c/AWrPbF1y670–cp-generator-2022/c/pnJgy4BzFyU–cp-generator-2022/c/L35KFtsABdc
